Information Technology Degree for Those Who Have a Passion for Business & Technology
Information technology is not just “another computer degree.” In addition to studying applied computer science, someone who is studying to earn an Information Technology Degree (or also know as an IT Degree) must also study business management and information theory.
Information Technology Specialists, or IT Directors in some companies, are expected to communicate with others, and therefore, communication skills, business skills, and management are very important to this career. IT professionals may best be known for troubleshooting computer problems in business offices, but they are also responsible for setting up servers, installing software, purchasing computer and server equipment, or even work with the telecommunication companies outsourced by a business. To become qualified for an IT position, most companies require a four-year Bachelor’s Degree, preferably an Information Technology Degree.
