Depending on your schedule, knowing what to do between classes can be hard. Some people will find that they have a couple of hours to spare while others scramble to get across campus before their next class begins. If you find yourself wondering what to do while killing time between classes, you have come to the right place.
Relaxing between Classes is Acceptable
So what should you do between classes then? For starters you could try relaxing. Seriously, though, it isn’t a bad idea. If you are taking a full load of classes, taking that hour in-between classes to have a coffee or chat with friends will be good for you. If you are constantly going, going, going you will get run down and stressed out. So taking some time every now and then to just chill and kick back will benefit you greatly.
Exercise Your Way to the Next Class
You could also use your spare time to get some exercise. Whether it is going for a run or doing some yoga, exercise is a great way to help you combat stress and make your overall outlook a more positive one. Not only that, but it will give you the energy you need to make it through your afternoon classes.
Spare Time is a Great Time to Catch Up on Work
If managing time in college is proving to be more of a difficult task for you and you find that you are kicking back more than actually working, you might want to use that time between classes to get some work done. Whether it is cramming for the exam in your next class or just catching up on reading, using the time in-between your courses to actually do schoolwork is a great idea. Especially since you are still in a schoolwork frame of mind, it might just make sense for you to continue doing work that way once your classes are actually finished for the day you can relax.
Office Hours Exist for You!
Spare time in the middle of your day is also a great time to go and speak with your professors, especially if they offer Office Hours. If you are struggling with any of the material or just want some extra insight on something, you will find that most have office hours during the day. If you are attending a large university you might just want to visit with them so they actually know who you are and that you have an interest in the material. If a professor can put a face to a name you are much more likely to succeed in their class then if they have no idea who you are.
College is About Having Fun: Make Memories!
Finally, use this time to make some memories. Meet new friends by hanging out in the food court, student lounges, by the pool, etc. College is about doing well in school, yes. But it is also about having fun and finding out who you are. The only way to do that is by using every minute of your time there and using it well. Trust me, it goes by way faster than you think it will and before you know it you’ll be getting your diploma and going on to work, so have fun while you can. Get involved, stay up late and never give up the chance to meet someone who could change your life forever.
